Home Brew Batch 3

Notes on batch 3 of my home brew. Provisionally named "World War 3" on account of the Austrian malt, American yeast and British hops.

Mash

  1. Mash Duration: 75 min
  2. Strike Temperature: 73 C
  3. Mash Temperature: 67 - 62 C
  4. Mashout Temperature: 75 C

Ingredients:

  1. 8 L - Water
  2. 3 Kg - Vienna Malt

Boil

  1. Boil Duration: 90 min
  2. Volume: 17 L

Ingredients:

  1. 90 min - 25 g - Challenger
  2. 15 min - 1 tsp. - Irish Moss
  3. 5 min - 25 g - Challenger

Ferment

  1. Yeast: Safale US-05
  2. Original Gravity: 1.041
  3. Final Gravity: 1.005
  4. ABV: 4.6%

  5. Fermentation Duration: 5 weeks

Notes

Has an interesting, although not unpleasant, and subtle apple flavour.
