Home Brew Batch 4

Notes on batch 4 of my home brew.

Mash

  1. Mash Duration: 75 min
  2. Strike Temperature: 78 C
  3. Mash Temperature: 68 - 66 C
  4. Mashout Temperature: 75 C

Ingredients:

  1. 8.5 L - Water
  2. 3 Kg - Vienna Malt
  3. 0.5 Kg - Carapils

Boil

  1. Boil Duration: 90 min
  2. Volume: 17 L

Ingredients:

  1. 90 min - 25 g - Challenger
  2. 15 min - 1 tsp. - Irish Moss
  3. 5 min - 35 g - Challenger

Ferment

  1. Yeast: Safale US-05
  2. Original Gravity: 1.054
  3. Final Gravity: 1.014
  4. ABV: 5.25%

  5. Fermentation Duration: 5 weeks

Notes

Notably darker than my previous brews. I think this was due to the higher mash temperature.
