Home Brew Batch 6

Notes on batch 6 of my home brew.

Mash

  1. Mash Duration: 45 min
  2. Strike Temperature: 77 C
  3. Mash Temperature: 67 - 65 C

Ingredients:

  1. 8.5 L - Water
  2. 3 Kg - Vienna Malt
  3. 0.25 Kg - Carapils

Boil

  1. Boil Duration: 60 min
  2. Volume: 17 L

Ingredients:

  1. 60 min - 35 g - Fuggles
  2. 15 min - 1 tsp. - Irish Moss
  3. 5 min - 20 g - Fuggles
  4. 0 min - 25 g - Cascade (AA 7.2%)

Ferment

  1. Yeast: Wyeast 1098 (made a starter)
  2. Original Gravity: 1.042
  3. Final Gravity: 1.016
  4. ABV: 3.41%

  5. Started: 10/3/2013
  6. Bottled: 6/4/2013

Notes

Was a little cold for the Wyeast and it struggled with the fermentation. After bottling when the weather warmed up a bit the beer started getting very over carbonated.
